Guide to Wayne County Campaign Finance Portal

The Wayne County Campaign Finance Portal is an official system for tracking money in local politics. This public database contains detailed records of campaign contributions, expenditures, and financial reports for political candidates and committees operating within Wayne County's jurisdiction. From city council races to county-wide initiatives, the portal provides a partial glimpse into who funds political campaigns, how campaign money is spent, and whether candidates and committees are complying with campaign finance laws.

It does not include state-level campaign finance data (such as for Michigan state representatives, senators, or governor), which must be accessed through the Michigan Campaign Finance Searchable Database. Federal campaign finance information for U.S. House, Senate, and Presidential campaigns is also not available here – this data is managed by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) through the FEC Campaign Finance Data Portal. Additionally, political spending by national organizations in local Wayne County races may not be fully captured if those organizations aren't required to file local reports.
